The 6 Components of A Great Business Plan
A winning business plan helps to develop a clear concise plan of action to guide your activity and dramatically improve your level of performance.
The greatest example of Goal Setting and Business Plan Development is Napoleon Hill’s all-time motivational book, Think & Grow Rich. Study closely the section titled: “ Six ways to Turn Your Desires into Gold.”
1. Fix in your mind the exact amount of new associates, sales, promotions, income, etc. you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say, "I want plenty of new associates, sales, promotions, income.” Be definite as to the amount! There is a psychological reason for definiteness.
2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return, to achieve the goals and dreams you
desire. There is no such reality as “something for nothing.” You must be committed – “I will have at least five appointments this week, five BOP attendees, etc.”
3. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess whatever goals you desire. Commit to your deadlines.
4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
5. Write out a clear, concise statement of the specific goals and objectives you intend to achieve, determine the time limit for their acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the things you desire, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to achieve your goals.
6. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after waking up in the morning; as you read, see, feel and believe yourself already in possession of
your goals and objectives. It is especially important that you observe and follow the instructions
in this paragraph. You may complain that is impossible for you to “see yourself in possession of recruits and sales” (or whatever) before you actually have them. Here is where a burning desire will come to your aid. You must imagine how good it is going to feel when you achieve these goals.
Points to Remember:
1. Write deep and important emotions into your plan.
2. You must read good books to grow and be inspired. Supplement your reading with CDs from HGI Leaders and other quality speakers/teachers.
3. Control your associations. Nothing drains your energy faster than spending time with negative people.
4. Draw your inspiration and reward from building others.
5. Help/challenge others to achieve their own goals, not yours. They are certainly not in this business for you!
6. Have and keep high, positive expectations with standards of excellence.
