  Director of Motivation
“... I’ve never known a man worth his salt who in the long run, deep down in his heart, didn’t appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for, needs, discipline and the harsh reality of head-to-head combat.
“... I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour – his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear – is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle — victorious.”
The Bottom Line
The common thread between these legendary winners is a mental toughness, a total mind-set about winning. While some of them might have slightly different approaches, their objectives remained the same.
The bottom line is that great teams don’t need a lot of hoopla. The ones that do don’t stay great for very long. Those who ride an “emotional roller-coaster” will find that it’s very difficult to stay on top — and once you hit the bottom, it’s very hard to climb back up.
The greatest motivation comes from:
• Self-Confidence
• Self-Esteem
• Know-How
• A System of Accountability
• Repetition—“Relentless Inevitability”
• A Plan that Works
You also need a Socrates/Plato relationship — a mastermind alliance.
The Habit of Persistence from “Think & Grow Rich”
Use these four steps to develop persistence:
1. A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment.
2. A definite plan, expressed in continuous action.
3. A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends and aquaintences.
4. A friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose.
Discipline gives you new habits to match the system.
Who motivates the motivator? The Key: He Does.
