Keys To “Directing” Your Team To All Events
1. Make sure you and your team make a commitment to never miss a meeting or an event.
2. As soon as a meeting is announced, you must personally register immediately and make sure that your leaders do the same.
3. You must immediately make your reservations to stay at the event’s headquarters hotel. The meetings before the meeting and after the meeting are more important than the meetings themselves. It is impossible to get the full impact of an event for you and your team if you are staying at another
hotel – even if it’s just across the street.
4. You must communicate the details of the event early and often.
5. You must personally call all of your leaders to make sure they are committed to attend.
6. If money is an issue for someone, you must help them understand that it is an investment in themselves – it could mean the difference between success and mediocrity.
7. You must do possibility projections with each of your leaders to see who and how many they will have in attendance at each event.
8. Run team contests to drive registration and push people to win company contests.
Key Points To Teach Your Team How To Maximize The Power Of All Events — Build A Winning Team Tradition
1 Arrive prepared – attitude and appearance mean everything. Business dress is required for BOPs and VIP Days. Company and team shirts should be worn to other events.
2. Take notes – “what flows through you sticks to you.” You must be a student of the business.
3. Arrive early – leave late. Treat each meeting like the Super Bowl. You must be ready.
4. Fight for the front. You must arrive early with your team to get the best seats up front for each session. It is a totally different meeting, and has more impact when you’re in the front, instead of the back.
5. Create Team MoZone (Momentum Zone). Commit to be the most excited team at the event.
Applaud and cheer for every speaker and award winner the way you would like the crowd to treat you.
6. Keep your head in the game. Focus on what is happening throughout the entire meeting. Do not leave the meeting or hang out in the hallways at any time for any reason.
7. Don’t get distracted. You must stay focused.
8. Make sure to have your team recap meeting at the office within the first few days of returning from an event to share the “good news” with people who were unable to attend.
History has proven that the leader who has the most people at the most events makes the most money. Make sure you and your Leaders master the art of becoming a “Director of Motivation.”
